Fire

Last night there was a fire in our subdivision. We were watching it closely on the news to make sure that it didn't get too close when a police officer came by and told us that it wasn't mandatory that we evacuate, but recommended. We decided to play it safe and leave. Since the fire was about 1.5 miles away we had time to pack a lot of stuff. We stayed with my dad and Tyler loved it! He got to stay up late and go play with Grandpa and Uncle Jon! The fire ended up destroying 10 homes, damaging 9 and killing one woman. We feel so blessed that the fire didn't come any closer and that our house was fine.

Primary

Ever since my brother got home from his mission last year I've been thinking that it would be great to somehow get him to help me with Sharing Time in Primary. And today it finally worked out. Jon was great and taught all of Sharing Time for me. He started out by showing the kids a big picture of him riding an elephant in Thailand - that definitely caught their attention! Tyler was pretty excited to see Uncle Jon after church, he's going to be sad when Jon heads back to school next week.

I realized that I don't have any pictures of Sara up yet, so here's one from today.

Family

On Thursday, Paul's brother Greg, his wife Patti and their son Chase came to spend a few days with us. Chase is 3 and he and Tyler had so much fun! They brought their jet skis with them and Tyler loved it when Paul took him out. He didn't want to get off! He likes motorcycles so Paul told him that the jet skis are like motorcycles in the water, so Tyler called them water-cycles. Tyler kept asking for "cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle..." so he could ride them again. He's pretty persistent and focused :)

Something I've never done before...

On Tuesday I did something I've never done before, but have wanted to do for a while. I got my hair cut and donated it to Locks of Love (they make wigs for kids). I got 14 inches cut off! I like it, but I think it will take Paul a while to warm up to it.

Twin Falls Temple

This past weekend we had the opportunity to go to the Twin Falls Temple open house. It was really neat to be there with our kids even though Tyler was trying to run all over the place. Sara, on the other hand, was very good and slept the whole time.
